Thyroid test results should be interpreted according to the laboratory reference range and considered along with symptoms, medical history, medications and other relevant investigations.

Understanding T3, T4, FT3, FT4 & TSH

T3 and T4 are thyroid hormones produced by the thyroid gland. Free T3 and Free T4 refer to the unbound portions of these hormones that circulate in the blood.

TSH, or Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, is produced by the pituitary gland and helps regulate thyroid hormone production. Measuring TSH together with thyroid hormones may provide useful information when evaluating thyroid function.

The interpretation of thyroid hormone results depends on laboratory reference ranges, age, clinical condition, medications and other individual factors.

Understanding Your SGRD Thyroid Profile Report

Your thyroid profile report will normally show the measured values for T3, T4, FT3, FT4 and TSH along with the applicable laboratory reference ranges and measurement units.

Reference ranges may differ between laboratories because of differences in testing methods, instruments and laboratory standards.

A result outside the laboratory reference range does not by itself confirm a thyroid disorder. Results should be evaluated together with symptoms, medical history and other relevant clinical findings.

Medical Advice: If your thyroid test results are outside the laboratory reference range or you have health concerns, discuss the report with a qualified healthcare professional.
